The one where I do the dishes.

I apologize right away for not updating my little corner of the internets, but I’ve been feeling uninspired lately to write, talk about, or photograph anything.

I’ve been busy with work and gearing up for a family member’s surgery that should be happening within the next couple of months. It’s pretty major surgery that will see the person immobile for awhile and that means I’ll be busy doing things that I’m not going to want to do, but will have no choice in the matter.

Photography wise I’ve been in a stalemate. I just haven’t found inspiration, but that changed tonight in the oddest way. Well, to be honest I’ve been trying to work out the kinks in this rut I’ve been in.

During my purchase of the DSLR that I’ve been using I tried to get rid of my older camera on Ebay. It did sell, but the person returned it a couple of days later, because it wouldn’t work on his computer. Seen that it works on my computer that was about a year older than his, I assume it was just a case of buyer’s remorse.

Instead of trying to sell it again I’ve kept it. It has just been sitting in a box for the past few months, but over the last week I’ve been carrying it with me everywhere (except to my place of work, not allowed) and have been finding small moments here and there to take photographs. I haven’t put them up, because it’s been all about finding my groove and not putting any pressure on myself to get them up for everyone to see.

That was only one step in the process, but tonight something strange happened. I was washing dishes and noticed the bubble running down the side of a glass and thought to myself that it would be interesting to see how well I could photograph the tiny suds. So, I broke out the Canon XSI and went for it.

I noticed that for some reason putting my camera in danger is part of the appeal of taking a photograph that might interest me. This was the case with this. The bubble is actually on the inside of the bottom part of the glass. It was very close to touching the liquid inside of the glass. I don’t know why that’s amusing to me, but you would think that protecting my camera would be the safe bet.

Also, I made my resolution for the New Year and I usually don’t do such things. I’ll have to post what it is another time.

From the Vault.

I'm pulling one of my old photographs and putting it back up on my blog, because I think it was over-looked the first time.

I do have a photo-project in mind, but I have yet to do it this weekend. Perhaps it will be up tomorrow, as I bought the piece of food I need to get it done.

It involves the color red and I may do a few different things with it.

Stay tuned!

Open Wide

Fresh, originally uploaded by PhoenixRyzing.

I really don't have much to blog about right now, but wanted to put a photograph up that I'm very happy with. It came out a tad lighter than I wanted, but did a small edit and there you go.
